Meet Amanda

Meet Amanda!!

One of the highlights during a photo session at Allure Studios is getting all glammed up! The studio has a professional hair stylist and makeup artist for each session. Her name is Amanda. Here is a chance to get to know a little more about Amanda and her hair and makeup skills!

How long have you been working with hair and make up?

-Ever since I was about 12. I used my little sister as my dummy. I have really been doing it seriously since I was about 15. I started with hair; I did a lot of up-do’s for homecoming dances and proms. Then in high school I somehow became the makeup artist, too. I was a dancer, and stage make up is not the easiest, so I became the go-to girl.

What do you like best about making people beautiful?

-I think by making people beautiful they really feel good about themselves, not that they didn’t look good or feel good about themselves before, it’s just that little extra lip gloss or curl that makes all the difference. Plus, everyone loves being all dolled up every once in a while.

What are some of your favorite make up styles?

-Of course everyone loves the smoky eye..and so do I, but I really like doing it with different colors. It doesn’t always have to be gray and black. I like to use greens, purples, and my favorites are browns and golds.

What do you like about working with Allure Studios?

-I love everyone that I work with at Allure Studios. We create beautiful photos that people are really pleased with. I really like all of the models I have worked with so far, everyone is up for anything and really left the creativity up to me.

Can you share one quick tip with our readers?

-Best tip: eyeshadow primer is the best make up tool!!

Valentines Day Special

I know it’s crazy that Christmas just passed and 2010 just started but it really is time to think about if you want to come in for a boudoir session as a gift to a special someone for Valentines Day. Last week we announced our sweepstakes for Maryland brides of 2010, this week we are announcing another sweepstakes but this one is open to anyone who is interested in a great boudoir photography experience and can travel to our Aberdeen, MD studio.

Submit the form below and you will be entered for a drawing for a free “Mae” package . This is a $450 value and includes a 3-4 hour session and our leather folio product featuring eight 4×6 photos from your session. The winner will be selected and notified via email on February 1, 2010. To sweeten the deal, we are going to let you bring along a friend to share in the experience and you will both receive the prize.

Set the Mood Monday…Why We Are Helping You Set The Mood

Welcome to our first segment of Set the Mood Monday. Now, you may be asking, why in the world is a photography studio interested in helping me “set the mood” in my own personal life??? The answer is the Allure Studios team is committed to making you feel sexy and confident, and we want you to feel this way not only during your photo session with us, but every day. We are in the business of empowering women and giving them the gift of beauty and allure and what better way to empower a woman than to give her ideas and inspiration for all areas of her life?!

So that is where the inspiration for our Set the Mood Mondays segment comes from, we just want you to feel sexy and empowered every day of the year!

In this segment you can expect to find lots and lots of ideas and inspiration for creating a romantic and sexy experience whenever you want. Whenever you are trying to create a complete experience of any kind, it is important to stimulate all of your senses. That is the approach we are going to take in our once a month theme pieces in this segment.

This segment will not just highlight ways to create sensual experiences but will also feature products, services, and ideas for pampering yourself. Besides, you definitely will not feel like a sexy, alluring woman if you are not looking and feeling your best. Everyone deserves a little pampering and primping every once in a while. We will have guest writers to highlight all sorts of products and services you can use to bring out your sexy and confident side.

Have an Alluring New Year!

Hello Everyone! It’s Steph, here at Allure Studios. We all want to wish you a very Happy New Year!

I also wanted to take a few minutes to explain more about what you can expect from Allure in 2010. We are a new photography studio and have spent the last few months building this business so that it would be ready to launch in the new year. We are so excited to meet all of you and have you visit our studio!

This blog, right here, is going to be a major component of our studio communication. There is an ever-growing amount of information about our studio and boudoir photography in general that we want to share with you. This is where you will find it. We have setup a sort of schedule for topics we want to share with you. You can look forward to seeing a new post here a few times each week and each post will offer information, tips, or ideas on a variety of topics. Here is the schedule of topics for 2010:

Mondays will be Set the Mood Mondays. These updates will feature a variety of ideas and tips for how you can spice things up at home, and create and alluring boudoir experience in your own boudoir.

Wednesdays will feature Allure Announcements, which will focus on happenings here in the studio, such as special offers or events. This segment will also focus on all things related to boudoir photography as a whole.

Fridays will be Fashion Fridays where you can get ideas and inspiration for outfits for your upcoming boudoir photography session here at Allure or read a review about a lingerie shop or discover trends in lingerie and fashion.

Sundays, or Starlet Sundays, as they are known around here, will feature real-life client sessions when we have them to share.

So there you have it…an outline of what kinds of things you will find here on our blog. We will also be hosting guest writers throughout the year to supply insights on a variety of subjects. This is where you will find all information about specials we are going to run here in the studio and packages that we offer. We also have a few special events already planned for 2010 and, of course, all of the details for those will be posted right here. We hope to become your one stop shop for all things boudoir!

Winter Accessories as Lingerie

Baby it’s cold outside! It snowed it’s butt off this weekend in Baltimore and Harford County. The depth is varied depending on the area but the best guess is around 20+ inches. I love the white stuff and I love all the winter accessories that we get to wear when it’s cold outside: hats, gloves, scarves, and cute coats. It’s even fun to bring these items into the boudoir as a fun and inexpensive addition to your winter lingerie collection. You can turn these every day items into sexy accessories that are sure to warm him up faster than a hot cup of cocoa. Now, whenever he sees you dressing to go outside, he’ll be thinking of you wearing just your hat and scarf. A cute scarf, matching hat and a pair of solid color panties are all you need to create an enticing outfit he’s sure to remember on those cold nights. Add a pair of cute and hip wellie boots for even more fun.
